When you go to purchase a new cell phone, most likely you are looking at the various features and style of the phone. Unfortunately, what most people tend to overlook when choosing this new device is phone radiation. iPhone radiation is a very important factor as you can develop health issues for usage. The FCC requires that this information be published in a database, but many do not even know what this database is or where to find it. If they happen to stumble across it, they may not know what a SAR rating is and why it is so important.

When you go to look at a cell phone SAR rating, be advised the the government currently limits the sale of devices in this country to those which come in at under 1.6. Newer phones aren’t necessarily higher in terms of this rating either which often surprises many people. An example of this is the iPhone. When you look at iphone radiation, the iPhone 4 has a lower radiation level than the 3G version, but higher than the original iPhone.

The problem with this is that the SAR rating does not look at non-thermal health effects and these should be considered. When you choose a new 3G or 4G phone, the low frequency information pattern is more compressed and is carried on the microwave. The manufacturers are doing this so phones can carry more data which is what users want. The compressed nature leads to more health risks, but you aren’t given this information when you purchase your new device.

If you are concerned about iphone radiation or the radiation emitted from any cell phone, be sure to check this database maintained by the FCC. The lower the SAR rating number, the less radiation is emitted. This does not mean the phone is completely safe though. Radiation is dangerous in every form and the more you are exposed to on a daily basis, the more your health is at risk. Unfortunately, neither the federal government nor the telecommunications companies are going to tell you this. They would lost too much money by doing so and they don’t want that to happen.
